- Is interested in the net - and presently spends at least a couple of hours on it. Please tell us of the kind of things that make the web interesting to you.

- Has used lists, newsgroups - or if they haven't, uses this opportunity to look these up and share with us your understanding of what you think these are. If you have used lists, newsgroups - pl tell us a little about the ones you are on, and why you are on these.

- Is not necessarily a techie - but knows enough to work their way around different web applications. Pl tell us about an application that you figured out on your own - or by bugging people with questions.

- Is interested in people, in writing - and would probably make a good pen pal - except here we are asking you to be a pen pal to the world. We are hoping that your letter in response to this will give us an idea of your comfort with English as a written language.

- Is interested in development issues. What drives us as an organisation are abstractions - equity, access, consensus, justice, respect… we would like to know if at any point any of these abstract issues reached out and touched you - made you question what you were doing or were not doing. We are not looking for a treatise - but would like you to illustrate something that touched you with a real-life example.
